TOP ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPRING AND FALL FOOTBALL SEASON?

Spring football is a 7on7 flag league, whereas fall football is a competitive tackle league. Athletes can play both! or if they choose they could play one or the other. Spring football lasts only 8 weeks and runs til fall football begins in July. Spring is a great way to get your athlete back out there and in shape for Fall but could also be a stepping stone for first time athletes! Feel free to reach out to the coaches with more questions or concerns about the two different seasons we offer.

WHAT DOES THE FALL FOOTBALL SCHEDULE LOOK LIKE?

Official fall season practice starts the week of July 8th. Practice will run 3 days a week during July, dates to be released sometime in June. Once we gain field access to our home field in August, 3235 Chili Ave, we will begin practicing 4-5 days a week for the remainder of the summer. Once school starts up, practice will go down to maximum 3 days a week. Practice schedule for school will be posted prior to the start of school and will vary based on whether our games are on a Saturday or Sunday that week.

WHEN ARE THE GAMES?

Football games will be held on Sundays when they are here in Rochester, Saturdays when they are in Buffalo. Home and Away schedules will be presented the last week of July so it gives ample time to make travel arrangements and adjust scheduling as needed. Please keep in mind any schedule changes regarding games does not directly come from The Village and we will do our best to get you game information as soon as it is available to us!

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT LEVEL MY ATHLETE WILL PLAY ON?

Chili Lions offers multiple different age levels.
Level of play is based off of the age your athlete is as of August 1st! So if your child is actively 6 but turns 7 on July 30th, he/she would have to play up on 8u as he no longer would be considered a 6u athlete. That also works vis versa, if your child is 8 but turns 9 August 3rd, he/she would still be eligible to play down on 8u.
